Ace Five
I stumbled across this on Wizard of Odds about a simple counting strategy, called Ace/Five count. I am a recreational blackjack player and have always just played basic strategy, so I know that I am at an overall disadvantage.
Is this strategy effective in double deck games as well, or is it only good for shoe games with 6/8 decks?
I can play in a double deck game with the following rules:
hit soft 17
late surrender
double any two
double after split
re-split aces
Is it worth it to try this counting system on this game? I am not interested in becoming a professional, just trying to reduce the house edge, and or possibly gain a small player edge.
Thanks.

Ace Five A Side
(May 2020) Ace vs. Ace Season 5 is a large scale indoor sports TV show produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV Program Center, hosted by Shen Tao. In each episode several well-known guests such as singers, actress, and TV hosts are invited to participate in games and advertise their own products. Ace-to-Five Count is the simplest card counting method available as you'll only have to track aces and fives. Needless to say it's also the least profitable when perfectly executed, although also the easiest to execute perfectly. (Credit for the A-to-5 Count goes to Michael Shackleford.). 'How Long' is a 1974 song by the British group Ace from their album Five-A-Side. 3 in the US and Canadian charts, and No. 20 in the UK chart.
